How are you practicing?
Are you speaking English 100% of the time at home, or also using Japanese?
You need to work on English 100% of the time, all of the time.
Suggest that you also watch American movies and watch how the English is being used.
Thank you for replying, suzzane4;)
I took this course and I got pretty good score except speaking because speaking was 6.
In terms of speaking section,it was hard to judge whether my answer was adequate or not by myself.
I understand you and I just need keep practicing.

Another suggestion from an IELTS examiner who conducted our workshop is to listen to BBC and CNN so that u will get used to both American and English accents.and as Suzanne said, practice using your English at home and at work..:),,hope this helps..:)

make it a daily routine that you speak English all the time.
you may need the full cooperation and support from everyone around you.

Hello sora-sora! You have to speak in English all the time...and THINK in English all the time if you can help it. My australian english teacher when I was reviewing IELTS said you know you've become a native speaker when you DREAM in English! hehe...
Anyhow, aside from the English practice, make sure your answers are fluent, coherent, organized and comprehensively address whatever is being asked of you. Consequently, avoid gaps in conversation...try to speak as fast as you think and AVOID translation in your head. Translation leads to grammatical errors and gaps. This is evidenced by stuttering, saying fillers like "uhhhh..., like..., you know?...,". Also, avoid repeating words while you're looking for the next thing to say. (Ex. My brother as a very, very,...friendly person...). Examiners will rate you on your ability to avoid these errors...
Hope this helps. Anyhow, I got lucky with IELTS. Overall 8.5
