Some specialties require that you have BCLS, ACLS, and PALS. Is it normal for you to pay out of pocket for these certifications? Or do the employers pay for the certifications when they are needed? Are the trainings only offered through the American Heart Association? Do the requirements vary from state to state? If so, what are they for Georgia Nurses?
Thanks

you should have your BLS when graduating school, after that most facilities will pay for the others if they are needed for your specialty. I am in oncology and only need BLS, but I am getting my ACLS this spring because I want to transfer to telemetry so I did get my manager to ok it so they will pay for it.
Thanks a bunch.
