Hello everyone,
I just became a family ARNP after passing AANP boards in FL, I have been an RN for 7 years in FL. For personal reasons I decided to move to California. I applied for CA RN by endorcement 2 months ago when I was in my final semester of NP school. I am still waiting for CA RN license (processing times on the CA.gov look good and my CA RN should come soon hopefully). But when I look at CA advanced practice nurse applications, they are still processing those that were received by CA board of nursing 5 months ago! I read that CA board fo nursing is notorious for taking forever to get license, but this is just too much.
My question is this:
If I apply for FL ARNP license (which would take much much faster 2-4 weeks), and then apply for CA ARNP license by reciprocity instead of by examination, will it take faster?
My objective is to move to CA and work as ARNP in CA asap. But I am so confused how to make it happen.
please, help me with my confusion, maybe someone is in the same situation and myself and can clarify some points for me?
Sincerely, Hulnara
