Salaries for long term care LVN's in Texas

  1. I am considering a job in long term care in Texas. I am new to the state, so I am not sure about salaries in this job market. Also, for those of you experienced in long term care, is the liability aspect something to think about, or is it not as big a deal as some make it out to be? I could sure use some advice! Thanks!

    [FONT=Fixedsys]Hi Jeannie,
    [FONT=Fixedsys]I have been a LTC nurse in Texas for the last ten years. I don't know what part of Texas you are looking at. It depends where in Texas as to what the salary range is. My area for LVN is anywhere from $14.50 to $19.00 per hour. I don't think liability here is any different than anywhere else. I love my job although I have watched many nurses come and go. I seen more of the management come and go than floor nurses - I think that is normal in LTC though.
