I am an associate degree RN.
I would like to be certified in geriatrics and be an RN,C.
Could anybody tell me what is required for this? What schooling is involved, can I do this through the internet, etc?

I believe you now need your Bachelor's Degree to become certified. I am certified as a Gerontological Nurse and did it before they changed requirements. The Certification is through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The requirements for becoming certified can be found by linking on to www.nursingworld.org.
You can become certified with an Associates degree. The difference in the cerification is RN,C and RN,BC. A Bachelor's degree nurse is considered board certified. They revised the requirement rather than making it mandatory to have a BSN.
