I work as an RN in a nursing home, and I'm getting pretty burned out. I'm thinking of trying agency nursing, but I'm a single mom so income is the priority. How much do agency nurses make per hour in a nursing home setting?
Aren't agency the first to be canceled? ...and that's if they have an assignment to start out with. If income is a priority, it might not be the best option unless it's a side job. Benefits may be another concern.
What makes you think working for an agency would lead to less burnout? Agency nurses are expected to hit the floor running and are always the first to get cancelled if census drops. You could try another, less stressful, environment in which to practice.
I am an LPN with 2 years of nursing experience and 9 years as a CNA and I was making 31/hr for 3-11 and 33/hr for 11-7 with agency.
