That's great news! During finals last week I was told that they were in heavy negotiations with North Metro Technical College in Acworth. That is in Cherokee County - not really the Alpharetta/Cumming area!!

Oh my gosh! I really hope that it IS at North Metro Tech!!! That's only ten minutes from me!!! I'm not sure why, but this wait to find out for sure about the location is absolutely driving me nuts! My house is on the market (just listed with ReMax, yesterday...), and I had sort of planned to move towards Cumming, but maybe I won't make any definite plans just yet. (Ha, ha!) Hey, Reidme, nice to hear from you, again. I'm also on pins and needles -- and I'm getting more and more excited by the minute.

This location is perfect for me, I hope this is IT. I have been stressing about location. It reminds me of Location, Location, Location (real-estate). I got accepted in Floyd, but location is too far. Let's pray!!

Floyd who are at N.Metro are moving by the way to another college in Marietta. So this could be true.

Yes, let's pray REALLY HARD! LOL
Actually, it makes more sense to me that they might try to find a location in the Cobb/Bartow/Cherokee area...the people who applied for the Windy Hill campus would most likely live around within driving distance of that area, wouldn't you think? So, if it IS North Metro, I think a lot of the accepted students will be be happy with that decision. I, personally, will be positively ECSTATIC! :hatparty:

I went to my PCP to try to get a HEP A&B vaccination (or start the series of shots for HEP B), but I was told that they wouldn't provide immunizations -- that I had to go to the Health Department. I've already had a titer test for MMR, etc., but I still need to go ahead and start the HEP B series. Has anyone else run into this with their PCP, before? They also wouldn't do my tetanus, either...said they reserve their tetanus shots for injured patients -- not boosters. Is this common practice, or do I just have a "stingy" PCP? :chuckle

I took my daughter to get tentnus shot at the health dept. last week, they gave it to her (no prob). Just tell them it is for school. Are we suppose to have HEP B's? By the way thanx you'll for updating this NGCU info. I hope this week means by tomorrow, can't wait anymore.

I hope you guys find out the location soon - I know it's driving you crazy! Immunizations that you need include: tetanus, the series of 3 Hep B shots AND a titer showing that they were sucessful, a PPD (tuberculosis test)- we have to have one annually, and proof of MMR (I had to have titers drawn). You will also have to have a titer drawn to show immunity to chicken pox if you haven't had the disease. You also have to have completed an American Heart Association Basic Life support course (CPR) and provide a copy of your card. You will receive all of this information later in the summer, but it is better to get started early because for hep B you have have to wait 1 month after the first dose to get the second dose and then at least another 2 months (and at least 4 months after the 1st dose) to get the third, and then you have to wait a little more time to have the titer drawn!

    Hey, guys and gals.

    It's been another week...

Anyone gotten any definite info from NGCSU, yet?

Called the school yesterday and was told the contract has not been signed so they cannot give out any info until that time. Linda said the students will be notified via mail.

    .....Still waiting

Hey, fellow NGCSU classmates for Fall 2005 --
Anyone want to get together to take the CPR certification course, somewhere around the Marietta/Kennesaw area, this summer? I know we have to have an updated certification card before classes begin at ______ -- well, wherever we end up in the Fall. LOL Anyway, if you are interested in taking the class with a friend or two, please pm me and we'll figure something out that works with everyone's schedules. (Also, if you happen to know where the classes are offered, that info would be very much appreciated.)
Hope everyone is having a terrific summer!
