NGCSU Cumming\Alpharetta Location to be Revealed This Week

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

For those of you waiting with bated breath as I am for the revelation of the exact location for the ASN Cumming\Alpharetta (NGCSU) this fall, the latest word I got from them this morning is that they will know for sure by the end of this week.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.....:)

dMarie,

I found the advisor at NGCSU to be very very helpful. I recommend that you call her and submit any course information that you have so they can evaluate what classes you can transfer. That is what she advised me to do when I asked if I could transfer later into NG. Did you already send in the application for fall 2006.

Good luck to you. I wish you success in whatever you decide to do.

Thanks,

I could be wrong, but I think the deadline for Fall 2006 has passed. I know they've already sent out letters to those they accepted. You can check it out on their website.

Yes, I believe deadline was March 1st for students beginning the program. For transfer students...I don't know, but I will find out on Monday. I read on their website that the Forsyth satellite program is for the BSN program. I didn't see any mention of the ADN program being held there.......

Hmm - well our instructor told us Friday that the new first year students starting in Aug will be at the Forsyth satellite campus. I am at the Gainesville Satellite campus. We had our finals on Wednesday and we asked her. I have a friend who just finished up 1st year at Acworth, and they will stay at Acworth for 2nd year, but the new students and the first year instructors will be at the Forsyth satellite campus. And this is for the ADN progam. I also heard that they are taking 140 students in the Fall, rather than 100 like they have in past years. So this is good news for those of you wanting to transfer in. We had two students in our class that transferred in from GPC. They hated it there. . .

Do you know where the clinicals might be for the Lanier Tech students. I am accepted at Gainesville, but I just checked mapquest and the lanier tech campus is 6miles closer and half the travel time. Sounds like this would be a much better option for me.

D'you think they will change me to lanier if I ask ?

But if the hospitals are going to be far out, then it may not be worth it. D'you have any information where the hospitals might be ?

Thanks a lot,

I'm sorry, but I don't know what hospitals they will use for the lanier tech campus, since it is new. Maybe the dept. secretary could tell you. (Ann Reid or Linda Stover). As for changing campuses, I don't think they will let you change. I know of a couple of girls that were at Dahlonega and wanted Gainesville, and they wouldn't let them switch until we had someone drop out, then they let one of them switch. That is something else the department secretaries may can answer.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Lisa

NGCSU looks like its a good school...I just checked out their ASN program requirements...Do they require you to complete pre reqs prior to enrollment?

From the looks of it from my prospective, you complete the science courses while in the nursing program?

Specializes in CNA- LTC(loathe it tho).

well.. i am currently a student in lanier tech's pn program in cumming.. we had a "bird" extremely in touch with the campus's nursing program and the issues around it and we were informed about a month ago that the chosen school was lanier tech and the first program is supposed to start spring of 2007, the papers werent signed just yet tho but it was locked in for the most part... but that is just what a lil birdie told us :)

Hey MKK08 - I sent you a PM with some questions about your program!

Cass
