well thats good for you guys if thats true, its really hard doing it as one large classroom. however, the group we had was mon-thur, and weve always been off on fridays, so it doesnt sound like its changing that much. either way, shes going to hand-register all of you. if not, people who had not finished all of their criteria such as cpr cards, could register themselves. the only bad thing would be some of yall might get broken up. BUT bc i know what candiadates they look for at the marietta program, im almost 95% positive you all will be there, and together. stop sweating it, you guys need a breather before it starts.

I hope you are right and that it won't change, because I was really looking forward to a Monday thru Thursday schedule.

Nobody flame me for saying this........BUT.....I know you guys are applying for the Marietta program (and it is probably closer and more convenient for ya'll) but I really hope we all get to stay together. I'm rootin' for you until then though! By the way, when will ya'll know who is and who is not accepted to the Marietta program? Surely before orientation?

I have no idea when we will find out. I, actually, live in Rockmart so I will have about a hour drive (rome would only be about a 25 minute drive). But, I was thinking about it and figured it would be cheaper to pay for gas than tuition, books, uniforms, etc...

I do wish we were all together though!!!

I think we find out in August about the Marietta program. We still have a mandantory interview after our application deadline, July 15th. I will be happy either way because this is what I really want. The wellstar program will of course be less drive for me. About 20 min, opposed to a 1 hr to Rome and then 1 hr drive home

I really admire the students who drive an hour one way to get to class....that's dedication!

Have you ladies read any of the other threads on here about organization tips for starting nursing school? In particular, the ones that suggest de-binding your textbooks. Just curious what your opinions are on that.

I take that back....I totally forgot about my CPR class tomorrow. After THAT, my paperwork will be all done.

I've read about that. I'm just not sold on doing it yet. I usually sell my books back on half.com. Ex. I bought my Micro book used for $105 and sold it for $88 on half.com.

I have read some of the organization tips....man, it was long!!! I have wrote a list of items to buy based on what they have suggested. Also, I am definitely thinking about debinding the textbooks. Seems weird, though. I will debind one and see if I like it or not.

I am also taking their advice on buying a Littman lightweight stethoscope.

I also found interesting about the nursing made easy books. They have stated it REALLY helps!!

I am straddling the fence on the stethoscope issue. I went ahead and bought a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff way back at the beginning of the year (the one that our nursing department suggests that we buy during orientation). I bought it from Lynn's Uniforms in Rome. I believe it was about $20. HOWEVER....my aunt graduated from the nursing program at Georgia Highlands (when it was still Floyd College) and said that those cheaper stethoscopes can be really hard to hear. She retired as a cardiac nurse, so she has one of those spiffy Littman Cardiology stethoscopes. I absolutely LOVE her stethoscope, but it is very expensive. I would love to have a nice stethoscope for school, but I have been told many times that they grow legs and walk. I won't have the money to replace such an expensive stethoscope during school. So......not sure what I'm going to do about that. I guess if I have problems hearing on the one I bough, I will have to move up to a better one. ???

I heard that you can have your name engraved on it....My suspicion would be that this would keep it from walking off.
