I'm starting nursing school in the Spring. It's a new nursing program, and it has BON approval, but no national accreditation. Will it be hard seeking higher edu? Will colleges take in consideration that it's a new program? What all does a nursing program need/need to do, to achieve accreditation?
Ps: I'm going in as the 2nd cohort. Will it have a chance to be accredited by then?
Are they seeking accreditation, at least? The school should be able to tell you when their initial accreditation will be up for an approval decision, no one else can tell you about when that might happen in relation to your start date. But yes, unaccredited programs are a gamble because there are no guarantees.
