Whether it was educating patients and families, orienting new nurses, or mentoring students during clinical experiences, I found myself enjoying the educational aspect just as much as direct patient care.

That realization led me to pursue a doctorate in Nursing Education. My goal is to help prepare future nurses by bridging the gap between the classroom and real-world practice. Strong educators have the opportunity to influence countless patients by equipping students with the knowledge, clinical reasoning, and confidence they need before entering the workforce.

Balancing work, family, and graduate school has definitely been a challenge, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. I would love to connect with other Georgia nurses who are on a similar path or who have made the transition from bedside nursing into education.

If you have pursued nursing education, what inspired you to make the change? If you are currently considering it, what has motivated your interest?

Dalton State College ASN - Spring 2027

Hello everybody!

	Hi everyone!

I'm an international nurse from the UK with an active RN license. I applied for my Georgia nursing license, and all of my documents were received and marked complete on November 26th, 2024.

I know the Georgia Nursing Board has a meeting scheduled for January 15th, but I'm getting anxious and wondering how long it's taking to get the Authorization to Test (ATT). I've sent multiple follow-up emails but haven't received a response yet.

For those who've been through this recently:

	    • How long did it take for you to receive your ATT?

	    • Is there anything else I can do to speed up the process?

I graduated from my school, in GA, in on December 11th and submitted my nursing application to the board on December 15th. The only thing I left for the board to check is my college transcripts which they have had since January 10th. I'm starting to get frustrated because it feels like other people are getting their ATT and scheduling NCLEX and they applied after me. What else can I do to get them besides calling to just process my transcript and send me my ATT? Everything I call I get the same response that it will take up to 21 days to process it.

hi, im an out of state applicant looking to move to atlanta by may 2024. I also graduate may 2024.

I have a few hospitals on my radar, top 2 northside and piedmont. I just want to reach out to ask other previous out of state candidates how did the application process go for you and how easy was it for you to get into your dream specialty (ps mines is l&d, mother baby, pacu, ICU, nicu)

in state and current nurses are free to reply and please let me know! I need as much help as I can get im very nervous and I want to be able to apply and find a job smoothly!

	my questions are:

	1. when does Summer residency start?

	2. how much is the base pay? night shift diff? weekend shift diff?

	3. how did the application process go for you as an out of state candidate? in state candidate? did you fly in or were you offered a virtual interview?

	4. did you find it easy to get into your dream specialty?

	5. how do you like your job now if you are still there?

	6. what are some ways I can stand out as an applicant? im currently an ADN student, as you know barely get the same opportunities a BSN student gets (I am so mad I don't have senior clinicals on a unit im interested in!!). a clinical instructor of mines said im free to come job shadow her a few days out the month as she works in l&d and I need to help myself to learning as much as I can due to lack of exposure.

Has anyone gotten endorsed by the GABON and not used the employment verification forms that they have provided. Everything about the process is so old. Paper application and having to submit these forms. No one uses forms anymore and the last time I called my previous HR department for employment verification, they wouldn't even talk to me. They just directed me to a third party site. I feel like the process should be easier than this.
