Georgia Baptist College of Nursing/ Mercer University Fall 2019

Published

Hey!

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to Mercer's nursing program starting fall 2019. As of now, I know that the application has not been opened but they did say is should open sometime this month. I am on my last semester of prerequisites, which consists of microbiology and the lab and philosophy. I had my transcript evaluated last semester and was told my transfer GPA is a 3.349 and my science GPA is a 3.000. I highly recommend you guys get your transcript evaluated, especially those transferring! I have 2 years experience as a CNA in home care and 1 in the hospital setting along with some hospital volunteer hours. Share your stats, advice and questions. Good luck to everyone!

The 2019 application is now open!!

Hey. I am Jennifer and I am 32 years old, a wife, and new mom. Taking the TEAS 11/03. 3.6 GPA and finished with all my pre req. I have 11 years of experience in patient care, I work as a surgical dental assistant.

Hi everyone! I am asking one more person to look at my essay and resume before submitting my application this week. I mainly wanted to apply before October so I could receive a decision by December. I have 350+ volunteer hours at a homeless shelter in downtown Atlanta and one year of experience as a surgical tech. Here are my stats: overall (2.963), science (3.750), transfer (3.438), and TEAS (92.7). I expect to be interviewed since my overall GPA is below the requirement. Two more classes to take; I hope to be done by December!

That is an awesome TEAS score. Any advice?

Jennifer1986, yes if you join the Facebook group ATI TEAS 6 Test - Study Group, go to the files section and select TEASReview.docx. My personal two cents are there.

Hey, I have also applied to GBCN! They're my first choice.

My stats are

GPA 3.14

TEAS 80

Volunteer hours 300+

I know my GPA and TEAS is a bit low. Do you guys think I'll have a chance? Should I expect an interview?

I would make sure to have an awesome essay. I made anyone I could think of read mine and give their opinions.

You could make a quality essay the highlight of your application. Your overall GPA is above the minimum (science and transfer are important too), and your TEAS is close to the last GBCN class's median score. I wouldn't expect an interview. Good luck!

My application is almost complete. Just need to take my TEAS in 2 weeks!!

Hello,

I applied last year but needed to retake a class. I am completing the class this semester and will reapply in December. Good luck to everyone :)

When I took mine I took a break between sections to clear my head and results were better. The last section I did not take a break and that was the section that pulled my average down. My last teas test will expire and I have been advised to retake it before applying.
