Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the site and everything, but I just have a question regarding the traditional nursing pathway at mason. I am currently a student there in pre-nursing, and I am already anxious about applying to the program and my chances of being accepted. I know that it is super competitive an everything so I shouldn't really get my hopes up For those who have been accepted, what is the average GPA? And a student who had been accepted said that they look at more than GPA such as volunteer work and your essay, and TEAS. Right now, I have around a 3.4 GPA (I have A's in all my classes this semester except for a gen-ed, which I got a C in). Is this C in a gen-ed class really going to hurt my chances? If I have good grades for the rest of my classes, especially the nursing pre-reqs, do I stand a good chance? Also, on the resume for the nursing program, can you list volunteer work you completed in high school? Overall, if I have at least a 3.5 cum GPA, some volunteer work, a good essay, and high TEAS scores, do I stand a shot? Sorry about my freak out, I'm just already anxious about my chances of getting in and I really want to do nursing at mason. Thanks Again!

I'm curious, did you apply to Mason - are you in the program? I, too, am looking for students who have been in the program or are still in and can give me any information regarding it. I'm planning to apply for the traditional program that begins next Fall (2013). I'd love any information any one is willing to give! I'm currently a student at Mason taking pre reqs.
