General Questions about cardio

Published

Hello nurses!

I just had a question about working on the cardio floor in hospitals in Illinois. Fellow IL nurses (and others)please help. I was going to apply to work on the cardo floor at a local hospital, but I didnt know how much experience was needed before I do this. I will be graduating in Aug from school. Any help would be welcomed!

Hi Elyse, I think you know me, but anyway. It depends on if you'll have your RN or LPN. There are several LPN's on the cardiac floor I work on that struggle because they had no schooling about cardiac stuff at all. But there's always classes you can take to learn more. Cardiac is a field of nursing that's always changing.

Thanks sarah for the reply. Yes I do know who you are, but we wont get into that. I'm thinking about going into em nursing, or med surge now. My mind is allways thinking of something different I want to do in nursing. The goal though is in flight trama nursing, so cardo would probably help out. But anyway thanks for the info.
