Your school's Grading scale?

Hello everyone!

I live in Texas and I'll be applying for nursing school in January. I've read a lot of different grading scales for various nursing programs online. They're pretty intimidating!

I'm curious what your programs grading scales are and the name of the institution?

I'm in Texas, too.

The school I start at in January isn't too bad.

90-100 - A

80-89 - B

75-79 - C

Anything below 75 is failing.

Oh wow --- NICE -- I would have graduated with a 4.0 under that scale :)

I'm not in Texas so this may not be helpful, but my school's grading is as follows:

A 93-100 (4.0)

A- 90-92

B+ 87-89

B 83-86 (3.0)

B- 80-82

C+ 77-79

C 73-76 (2.0)

C- 70-72

Anything below 70 is failing. Any student receiving a 2.0/ "C" grade in as a final course grade will meet with an adviser and develop an action plan. 2 final course "C" grades result in academic probation, and a 3rd "C" grade is grounds for dismissal.

Ugh, I'm no longer in school but mine was sort of similar (not quite as harsh, but close).

95-100 - A

92-94 - A-

89-91 - B+

86-88 - B

83-85 - B-

80-82 - C+

77-79 - C

74-76 - C-

All grades were rounded down to the nearest whole number (so a 94.999 would still be an A-). No test curves.

It drove me nuts that I could score in the 90s and still end up with a B. :rolleyes:

Below 75 Failure

No rounding.

Only exams are graded, everything else is pass/fail.

These are the only two grade ranges I memorized, tried to find the grading scale in my class manuals to no avail. NJ, ADN program.

100-93% - A

93-90% - AB

89-80% - B

Anything below 80% is failing. It's pretty intense.

I go to school in Ohio. At Youngstown State University, or grading scale is as follows:

A: 100 - 93

B: 92 - 85

C: 84 - 77
