School is out and hubby is home (on the 21st) after being deployed to Iraq for a year (during my entire first year in nursing school...talk about stress!)

But I've passed everything and I can't wait to see him, eat some holiday ham, and open some gifts....praising God and celebrating Jesus!!!!

We are going to hole ourselves up in the apartment until Christmas Eve and then spend the night at my parents house, then get up and have Christmas day like a couple of kids.

I'm reading Maternal-Neonatal Nursing made Incredibly Easy and Pediatric Nursing made Incredibly Easy to prepare me for third semester.

And planning on drinking lots of spirits with hubby on New Year's.

What are your plans?

Specializes in Home Health, Hospice.

Let's see...I'm done with finals on Weds thankfully. Dh will be home Friday for a couple of weeks. Christmas eve my parents are coming to my house, Christmas will be at my sister's, then the day after off to OH to see my inlaws - barring any nasty weather at least. Come back New Years Eve, enjoy the night at home. Dh leaves the 2nd, kid back to school the 4th........

THENNNNNN....I have peace and quiet till the 18th!!!!!!

Of course I still have almost all my shopping to do, all my cards to write out, baking to get done, make our annual trip to Dollywood, see the lights at Bristol motor speedway....whewwwww :chuckle

i plan to relax a little bit, read a novel or two, work as much as possible until the new semester starts. i am also going to start reading for the next semester, and prepare drug cards etc. we take 7 1/2 weeks of med-surg, 7 1/2 weeks of psych for the spring semester. it is our choice as to which we take for the first half and for the second. i chose the harder one first so i could have the time to get some of the readings done etc. rumor has it that this is our programs hardest class. i will do my best to prepare for it. i hope everyone has a safe, healthy, holiday season!

My semester is finished the 19th...

Kids last day of school is the 19th,

My Amanda is coming home the evening of the 19th,

Christmas the 25th (and I have to work),

New Years eve (work)

New Years Day (work)

Amanda is going home the 3rd,

Kids go back to school the 3rd,

AND TILL THE 17TH IS MINE!!! ALL MINE!!!

(and I don't know what I'm gonna do, but it's not going to require much energy, I'll tell you that! LOL!)

i take my last final on thursday. then i plan on working and slepping until mid-january. I am starting a LPN-RN transition in the winter semester. the program wasn't suppose to start until march. i was excited because i just graduated with my LPN in august and took boards in october so I thought I would get a breal]k from school for a while. my family is coming for christmas. but as i have gotten older christmas has lost its appeal.

After Wed I'll be done with Finals...

Then on Friday my friend and I are going on a 5 day vacation to Laguna Beach, CA! I'm really excited because I live in PA, and we have 6 inches of snow and its about 20 degrees out. I hate snow and I can't wait to visit CA!

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Too broke this year to travel anywhere. I am just staying home and getting an early start on my nursing books. Have to work on a research paper that is due the first week of school, plus read the first 3 chapters of my micro book. That should keep me busy for the 2 weeks of break.

Hope everyone else enjoys their time off :)

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

Enjoy your break. Sounds awesome.

I just finished my class last night and start Community Health Nursing after the new year. I'm just planning on relaxing and reading. Of course I'm still working my 3 12-hour shifts a week, but that will be a breeze.

Specializes in NICU Level III.

I'm going to Vegas next week and the rest of the time I plan to RELAX!!

Specializes in critical care; community health; psych.

After graduation on the 20th, I will have a month long break before I begin working as a GN at my new facility. I'm packing up my car with everything I can pile in it, including Christmas gifts for the kids and grands, and I'll be off to Pittsburgh on the 22nd to start my new life via the Amtrak Autotrain from Florida to Virginia, then it's a driving road trip the rest of the way. My rented house is waiting for me without a single stick of furniture so I'll have to take care of that. I'll be taking my down time arranging furniture, changing tags, getting a PA driver license, turning on utilities, hugging those grandkids and getting used to ... snow??? I've driven in it only once!! I'm going to look at it, oooh and aaaah at it and then probably curse it when I have to actually go somehwere in it. At least I won't get those nasty hurricanes any more. Oh yeah, and study for NCLEX.

The key word is adjusting here and lots of it in a major way. New career, new house, new environment. Flat land to hills, sandy beaches to snow, student to nurse.

Last day of finals is the 19th. About the only thing I'm sure about regarding the break is that it will undoubtedly be shorter than the amount of time needed. Lol. Between all the household projects that have gone by the wayside this semester, there's a list of "fun" things, friends to visit - heck, I haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet. The odd thing is, after a semester of an accelerated program, I find myself feeling oddly idle if I'm not up to my gills in aneverendingstreamofactivity...

Then again, doing nothing is beginning to sound pretty good....

Hi everyone

Sounds like you all have awsome plans for break. I am done this wendsday. I will rest a lot for 2 days and catch up with some of my friends. Do my christmas shopping that I haven't even started? That will be fun dealing with the crowd. I am good at getting things done. Otherwise hang out with my friends that I kept saying "NO" to (you all know what I mean) throughout the semester and probibly finish my book I started reading before the semester.

Good luck on all of your finals.

Take care and have a safe holidays.
