my semester is now over. i am assuming that for most of us our semester is over or just about. we had a meeting last night regarding registering for next semester, and we got to see who passed the first semester. the official numbers are out. we are down from 60 to 38. i believe it was rumored to be down to 28 at one time. i guess the final really helped some people.

i am just curious. how many are in your class at this time? how many did you start with?

Our class started with 30 people and now we are down to 20. We lost four last semester and six this semester!! Our final was insane!!! The class average for our final was 70% Passing is 78%

So, if anyone was teetering on the brink the final ruined them!

im not sure yet what our final count is yet but it was sure sad lots of tears tuesday ...some happy some sad .....we lost two i know and that is very sad ....:scrying:

seems our whole class instrutors and all really had a crazy semester i think were all just glad it is over ..... well i'll type at you all soon...

We started out with 35 (I think)...... And are now down to like 23. :uhoh3:

And we are picking up 4 that failed their 2nd semester, so we are now back up to 27 .... WooHooooooooo

Well, when I first started in Spring 2001, there were 55 students and now we are down at the end of spring 2002 to about 33 students. We picked up about 4 among the way and they are included in that 33. About 5 not included in the 33 from the orginial are not giving up, they will be back. 4 of them are still at the university taking other non-nursing courses required for graduation. The 5th one went back home, he was from a different city and he plans to continue the nursing program at home at a school down where he is at. Of the 33 we have remaining they are all pretty bright and I am pretty sure that my graduating class next year will be 33 and if they drop out it will not be for grade reasons. (well, you never know) but like I said they are all pretty bright. The 33 includes myself.

moni what school you attend in Memphis? I'll be in the southwest fall 2002 program

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho.

We actually dont find that out until next wednsday. We have to take the HESI and it counts as our final, so some may still have a chance to pull it out.

We lost one last week, i think she just didnt have a shot even with the HESI. Started with 29 and so far 28 are still around.

But like i said,, next week may be the breaks for some.

Our class started in fall 2001 with 80 students. Going into summer semester we have 52, but that includes students who dropped last year and are returning, and the LPN to RN bridge program. A friend and I went over past rosters, and counted 29 original students left out of the 80 we started with. Still one more year to go!

Our class started with 72. After two semesters, we have 51. I think that most of the people who have failed a class have given up on the program. Several people have changed majors, and others are going to a different school in Memphis that is said to be easier.
