Just curious...

What is or has been your favorite class in nsg school?

Specializes in Geriatrics, LTC.

Well it was before the actual nursing program, but I loved Medical Terminology. It was fun just making sense and breaking down the words.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho.

It was before nursing classes, but i think my favorite was micro. I loved the RNA/DNA synthesis stuff.

Specializes in LTC/Peds/ICU/PACU/CDI.

let's see...i have to say, health assessment was my :smokin: favorite because we had to make a video of assessing one another.

we used our school lab & :nurse: dressed the part. our patients (who happened to be our classmates), were dressed with gowns & had to lie-down on the examination tables & be subjugated to pokes & prudes :lol2: as we went through with our examinations.

everyone did a great job & got a passing grade for the video project...we all had a blast at practicing on each other too!!!

I also enjoyed Microbiology more than any other so far......

cadaver dissection class..."extra class" after a&p ii

Specializes in LTC/Peds/ICU/PACU/CDI.

My favorite class was Nursing skills. It was short, to the point and got to do hands on stuff.

I absolutely loved Anatomy and Physiology 1.....this class fascinated me so much. I didn't know I was going to feel this way I do at the end of this semester. I was thinking about taking A & P 2 with my Nursing 107 (should I be accepted into the program...I won't find out until June 15th). I asked my professor from A & P 1 and she told me not to. She said it's going to be too much. But I talked to a few other nursing students and they told me to take it with Nursing 107....so I guess I'll just talk to a nursing counselor.

My fav? Has to be what I am in now. Geriatrics. Cause we are doing more hands-on stuff than we ever did in Med-Surg. I've done tube feedings, changed G-tubes, given shots, suctioned...all sorts of things! I am one of those learners who have to do hands on in order to grasp the concept, so this semester has really got my heart for the favorite! (and besides, I love the elderly).

we had 4 or 5 students taking a&p 1&2 along with the first 2 semesters of nursing. only you can decide how you want to do it. how did you do in a&p1?

if taking a&p2 before starting nursing means you have to wait another semester or year (my program only starts in the fall) i would go for it.:wink2:

good luck in whatever you decide.
