What does it mean for a nurse to be professional in your opinion?

The professional nurse should continue education, regardless of what is required for licensure, and should be acquainted with the Nurse Practice Act of the state in which they practice.

That's a really broad question, isn't it? :)
To me it is practicing in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Practice Act, but also be able to resolve conflict effectively and utilize leadership skills. I wish to become that RN someday

That's true. But to be truly helpful, think you've gotta have a clue as to what's really being sought.
Otherwise we could present an elaborate answer with significant details, and the end result be a complete waste of the reader's and the writer's time. Do we have that luxury?

In my opinion, professionalism of the nurse entails providing the optimum of care to any and all patients without bias or prejudice and within the guidelines of their scope of practice.
