What are you doing for graduation?

  1. Hey everyone!
I am graduating, and SOOOOOO excited!!!!The feeling is amazing!
I was just wondering what everyone is doing for graduation......
We raised over $2000, so we are having a dinner/dance at a fancy hotel downtown on May 18th, and then our ceremony with the pinning and diploma is on June 7th. Just wondering about everyone else.

    Good luck!!! Have fun!!!!!!

    Hey Michelle!
We're doing the pinning ceremony and reception tonight. Then tomorrow, our class is throwing a party at the clubhouse of an apartment complex where one of our classmates lives. There are 43 of us graduating, and just about everyone has committed to come with spouses, friends, whoever. Nothing fancy, just a huge, rowdy BYOA party that we all desperately need! I can't wait! Have fun!

WHAT!! no capping ceremony!! Just kidding.

When my class graduates, we've requested a capping ceremony. This was traditional years ago and it is something we feel as tradition should be revived, and continued for graduating nurses in the future.

No,before you all get upset, we are not suggesting that they be worn at work. Instead, we are suggesting that we earned this through hard work and studies. I for one am going to get a glass case to proudly diplay it!

We had to wear the nursing caps, I think they looked great. Only problem was getting that black stripe to stay on! Our instructors told us to use KY jelly- I'd like to know who was the one that figured that little trick out? LOL.

We use K-Y to attach little bows to new born's hair. So this is probably where it comes from. Actually years ago when nurses actually wore caps the strips were attached with studs.

We are having a pinning ceremony in white uniforms and caps. Then in the evening we are going to our college graduation to receive our degrees. We are wearing our stethoscopes with our cap and gown to distinguish our selves from the other grads. The pinning ceremony is most precious to us. Yet the college has threatened to take it away for low attendance (by past classes at the actual graduation). They just don't get it. We are not like the other grads. This is diffrent and is special.
