Well my first day of nursing school was interesting! We only had 1 class today, 2 hours long. It's a distance learning course where we've got the big TV screen and microphones and we interact with another class (maybe 2) at another location. We're all self conscious & shy, nobody wants to get on the microphones and answer questions, let alone be on the TV, lol. It seems to be a new experience for most if not all of us.
I'm hopeful that the following improves as class goes on. We were explicitly instructed at orientation to READ AHEAD. We are to be prepared to discuss / learn with that information already in our heads. I got to class and discovered that the teacher only gave an overview of what we read!!!!! *****?? I can READ on my OWN. Goodness. I hope this is just a "first class, getting used to each other" issue which will soon be resolved. I come to class to LEARN.
Tomorrow will be a BIG DAY. School is an hour from home so I probably won't go home between, which makes for a long day.
I know there are more first-day people here, where are ya? How'd it go? What did you think???
