last week we were notified by our nsg dept that adn students are no longer allowed to take the lpn board exams after our third semester. they said we now have to be enrolled in an lpn program in order to take the lpn boards. this is the first i have heard of this. it has always been a common practice for many adn students to take the lpn boards while still in rn school (at least in my neck of the woods). is this a nationwide thing or just in ny state???

Not been permitted in PA over past 25 years....
a. NO completion of a nursing program which is SBON requirement most states.
b. RN students are not educated in LPN role/educational standards as part of ADN program; potential to practice beyond LPN role.
