It was not too exciting, but at least I feel like I am doing something this summer towards my degree. I am still waiting on my acceptance letter and the days are going by pretty slow right now. I am glad I took the class either way though. It is always nice to be brushed up on basic life support.

Teresa,

I need to do that to. It's one of the requirements of the Univ. Im trying to get into! IF I get accepted (I find out 7-15) I'll need to have that done with and a multi series of shots by next summer.

How long is your CPR course?

Specializes in Mostly LTC, some acute and some ER,.

I really liked taking the CPR course. the instructors were alot of fun and made it easy to learn. I have had to actually do CPR 3 times in my life since I was 14. One thing you should know is that no matter how good you are at it, it usually is not successful. It never was for me. When I was 13 I took my first CPR class because I joined a vollunteer fire department as a ride-along, but still got to do some of the work. It tore me up when I was 14 and could not bring this person back. I knew the person, and she wasn't very old at all.

CPR is a good skill to have.

I hope your acceptance letter gets there soon.

I'm taking my CPR class August 4th. It was somewhat exciting filling out the form for CPR for "healthcare providers"!

Just took my CPR class today. Alot has changed since the last time I took it. I found it very interesting.

Hi Teresa,

How are you? I have to take a CPR course also (if I'm accepted...still waiting for my letter too) If I remember correctly it's $60.....this is pretty exspensive for me though...so I'm going to call around at the area hospitals.

It is a good feeling to brush up !

Good job:nurse:

Specializes in Everything but psych!.

I just got done getting recertified as a CPR instructor. The instructor trainer was telling us about a fun class she taught. One of the students was pretty squeamish about the whole thing. When she started pulling the CPR manikins out of the bags, the student ran out of the room screaming! :chuckle

Guess she would never make it as a forensic nurse!

I took my BLS for Healthcare provider's course last month. It was really educational and I feel pretty confindent in my newly learned skills. Being a mother of two kids it feels so good to know that I would most likely know what to do if one of them was choking or something scary like that. Anyways, hope you get your acceptance letter soon. I just have to get my hepitis shots started & my exam and drug test done. I start August 11th, I'm so excited!

I thought the same thing! It's been quite a few years since I was last certified and it was the BLS for health providers that I took last too.

GOod for you! Thanks for reminding me......;) I have to renew my certification also

Happy:D

Oh, good luck hope you get in

I have to take it too, but my hubby is a certified instructor and even has a "Chris clean" resussitation dummy and all the other needed supplies so I don't have to go too far to be trained.
