Studying

  1. Hello

So I'm currently in Week 3 of my ADN program. I'm taking 1 1/2 classes. I was just wondering how many hours should I study a day? I don't want to over study and burn out but I haven't figured out a good plan yet on how to do it? Thank You!!!

It varies student-to-student. A good rule of thumb is "Until you get it."

I like to study in short bursts - my ADHD won't let me do it any other way. 30mins, then a small break. After about 2~3 hours, if I feel like I hit the wall, I take a longer break or switch subjects.

It's not how long you study that matters, it's the quality of your study time

Ok. Maybe that's my problem. I'm focusing on how long I should be studying rather than making sure I understand. Thank you

I agree with everything that Wiggly Litchi said. Not sure if you have had any exams yet, but those first exams are a great way to gauge your study habits. If you don't do so well, it's definitely time to take a step back, figure out your learning style, and adjust the way you're studying accordingly.
