There are countless movies like that. Go to the documentary section of any video store. There are movies about HIV, sex, drugs, unionization/workers rights, the feminist movement, politics, etc...

Any Monty Python movie will do....The Meaning of Life would be a good one followed closely by the Holy Grail if you want a more political look on life. If you are looking for a religous outlook, try the Life of Brian.....good crowd dynamics there.......

Natural Born Killers takes you on a satirical roller coaster of societal issues such as family dynamics, culture, children becoming products of thier enviroment, and of course murder and socitety's adoration/hatred for murderers.

What about a movie like Philadelphia? It has the added benefit of including a medical topic (AIDS).

Mr. Jones with Richard Gere is an excellent look at schizophrenia
Ordinary People (Mary Tyler Moore, Donald Sutherland) deals with the deterioration of a family following the death of one of the children.
In The Bedroom with Sissy Spacek also deals with a couples reaction to the death of their only child.

Believe it or not a pastor I know has chosen "Napoleon Dynomite" to help teach the youth spiritual truths to cope with society. You could go to the church website for more information and possibly get a copy of his outline.

I took a Medical Sociology course recently and we watched a movie entitled, "The Doctor" with William Hurt in it. Really spoke a lot about the medical establishment. You might buy it on amazon.com for less than $20.
