I am a single parent getting ready to graduate from nursing school. For those single parent's out there I am wondering whether you find day shift or night shift to be better suited for a single parent trying to raise children? Thanks in advance!

First of all, congrats on making it through nursing school as a single parent. That is no easy feat!!!

Now to your question. 12 hour shifts are tough as a single parent, whether it is day or night. Do you have family close that can help you? If you can, try to find a hospital with a day care attached, although this can be impossible in some markets. Finding a good home daycare (one that is certified and reputable...check references) is also helpful with the additional work requirements of a nurse (holidays, weekends, etc.). Best of luck, and congrats again!
