I am doing and exam review for my first dosage exam on Wed. but I'm having problems with this one question because I can't find it anywhere.
Here it is:
Order: Restoril gr ss(line above) po
Lable: Restoril 15mg/Capsule
How many capsules will be administered?
I understand how to calculate it bu what in the world is gr ss? I thought it was grains but it doesn't work out (i put down 1gr=60mg).

So the answer would be 2 capsules, right? I'm a new nursing student.

I hate questions with grains! Anyone ever seen it in the real world? lol

I've been told some really old-timey docs still use grains, but I've not seen any.
I'm convinced the apothocary system is just to torment nursing students :rotfl:

I doubt the "really old-timey" docs are still in practice ....if they are even still alive. lol
I agree, it's to torment! lol
I remember taking a Health Occupations Math course during my first semester of college. I didn't do well at all. (I blame it on being 18, having a new born, and taking 14 credit hours during one semester.) (Couldn't be b/c I didn't try hard enough!) lol
