Posting your Exam Grades on Facebook

Does anyone find this really annoying? I'm usually private about my grades unless a good friend of mine from class asks me..... Does the whole world need to know? This is how the posts usually look. A&P 93%... just weird to me.. anyone else feel the same?

ill admit it, i do it sometimes... when i worked really hard and get a good grade sometimes ill say something like "thank god, 92 on my pharm exam.. one more to go and im done!!!!!!"

i dont think it is really necessary to make an update about every test grade but it doesnt really bother me when people do.. frankly i dont think anyone really cares what you got on your test, but if it makes you feel better to announce it, go ahead. its not going to ruin my day or anything.

I always post my grades because Facebook is the primary way I communicate with friends and family while I'm busy in school. This lets those who care, like my in-laws ( who help pay for school and are very interested in my grades!) & study partners know quickly without a lot of texts or calls. If someone doesn't care they can skip over my posts just like I skip over their " what I cooked for dinner" or mafia wars posts. Besides I spend so many other posts talking about studying as that is all I ever do I figure I should sprinkle my posts with the results of all my hard work : ) What is important enough to you for sharing on Facebook if not grades? I'm curious.

It annoys me too and like you, I don't post my grades. I've had people send me messages asking if I was doing ok in a certain class because of other people in the class posting their grades and they don't see me doing that so I'll write them back and and tell them my grades and say that I don't post my grades.

I couldn't care less.

I should just add that I don't friend everyone I've ever spoken to on Facebook. If you request me as your friend and I know you I'll accept but I only go out of my way to friend those who I am truly interested in. The kind of people who ask me about how I'm doing in school (& expect a real answer) every time I speak to them anyway.

well in my program we have about 2-3 sometimes four tests a week.... so its really not neccessary to post after everyone. everybody has different abilities in school and sometimes you score well, and other times not as good as other people.. it makes me feel ****** sometimes when people do that.... thats all...

If it was a hard test and I did well on it I'll post because I am happy I passed and glad it's over. I don't post every single grade though!

positive quotes usually.. I don't really post all that much on facebook for status updates... I guess I can see your own personal reasons for why you do it.. I guess sometimes it comes across as bragging frome some of my classmates.... everyone has a right to do what they want on fb, just stating my opinion on it....

I had one classmate who would put up a self-aggrandizing post on facebook when she got an A on a test. But when she didn't get an A, she didn't post.

She was annoying all the time, facebook didn't change anything.

I think posting grades on facebook is a personal choice. And if others want to think someone else's choices are annoying, that's fine too.

That being said, I posted exactly one grade on my facebook page - I noted that I graduated nursing school with a 4.0.

i find it annoying only to someone who constantly is running their mouth on fb on how well they did like they just won a nobel prize. My posts are usually along the lines of "i totally smoked that test" or "did well..." junk like that...

i did find out one person in my cohort who is ALWAYS running her mouth, and...it turned out that, i saw by accident when i went to the teacher for help and saw some papers on her desk, she didnt do so hot...soooo.yeah. the empty can rattles most ..lol.

I'm sorry you feel bad because of your classmates posts. We have too little free time to spend it upset. Maybe you can hide those people so you aren't faced with their grades every time you log on. Regardless of what others say they made, just do your best and be proud of yourself when you work hard! If you do come across their posts maybe just try to be congratulatory and supportive. You never know, you might need them to congratulate you on your fabulous understanding of the next material!
