Hello,

I'm hoping that someone who was (or is) a Passaic county college or Sussex county college nursing student can tell me if you have clinicals 1 or 2 days a week in nursing I, for how long, and how much does it increase when you are in nursing II, III, IV?

Specializes in Med Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ER as an Aide.

I can relate to you on feeling like a groupie, but sometimes, I myself have been nosy enough to ask questions, I remember once, I just went right up to some nursing students who were studying and I actually got some tips on certain things to in the future.

As per the externship, here's a link from I got from a post here on Allnurses https://allnurses.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7575&d=1260416520

It's something you can look up for the future.

Nice score on the NET, I'd imagine that you can calculate you score number from the score, your GPA and the toher criteria.

Let your will to get into the program motivate you to study and prepare you even more for the coming exams.

Thanks for the link and the motivation. I'll let you know how it goes.

Dee

Hi,

I somehow stopped getting notifications that anyone responded to this thread so that's why it's been so long since I wrote. How are you two doing? I got to retake the NET in May and got in the 98 percentile so that helped push my points up to the maximum 22. I'm so excited. Did you guys hear PCCC is doing away with the NET and using the TEAS, but not the science part of them?

I didn't get a chance to take Micro this summer due to money so I'm hoping to take it this fall. I signed up for Nutrition and Statistic this fall also. I plan to transfer directly into a BSN program after getting my ADN so these 2 courses will be to transfer.

The applications will be available in September so it's getting closer :) I heard you know if you made it in by Halloween.

:yeah:WOW, congrats on the 98 percentile with the NET. I took it early as I heard they were doing away with it too. I also signed up for Micro in the Fall in one of the evening classes. I have also been impatiently waiting to apply in September since they said I can't officially apply with Micro until actual enrollment.

Later,

Dee

Thanks Dee. There wasn't a formal notice at Sussex about the NET changing and I was going to wait till Sept to take again, but I wandered over to PCCC website and found out that wasn't an option. They were going to change in June, but now its post-poned till Sept. From what I've seen at Sussex they are offering a pre-test for the TEAS during these summer months and PCCC is still offering the NET through August but they don't have any spots available. I'm so happy I got the NET done with.

I'm impatently waiting too lol. As of Sept 1st I have set on the calender of my phone to check for the application through out the month. Did you see that they are now asking for more pre-req's for the night nursing students? Orginally I was told a year ago that you just needed Intro to Chem, but starting Jan 2011 you have to have Eng I and II, A&P I and II, General Psychology, Psychology of Human Growth and Develpoment, and Chem. At least we don't need Micro right away. Since you're taking it in the fall, how is Micro going to show up in the application? Will it just say "in progress" or something like that?

~Michele

Yeah, I guess it will say in progress. I know about the course requirements that's why I am also taking the Human Growth and Development in the Fall as well. That's the course that I have to actually be enrolled in to apply for January's evening program.

Do you know where I can get the application to the nursing program? Do I have to go into the office? I didn't see one on the website.

Dee

Hello,

I haven't seen a printable application either, so I believe you do have to go in and pick one up. At Sussex the applications are available in the Allied Health office. I was told once September rolls around to check frequently for them because there wasn't a set date they would be available.

Hey Dee,

Did you get your letter yet? I got mine a little over a week ago. I made it :). Orientation and registration is next week. I'm excited!

Congratulations! :yeah:

I haven't heard anything so I'm guessing it's a no, although I have a bunch of classmates still waiting as well, some of which have really high gpa's so, I dunno.

All the best to you.

D

Hello,

Thanks :D

I can't believe you haven't heard anything. Have you called? When I submitted my application in September I asked if everyone would be notified either way and they said yes. I guess since classes don't start till late Jan maybe they feel they still have time to notify people.

Good luck and keep me posted:)

Michele

OK, so, I guess I needed to check my mail box because my acceptance letter was sitting in it that same day.

Now, I have to figure out if I can even attend...long story. I'm also waiting for another school to reply and then I will know for sure.

D

Congrats D!

What other school are you looking into attending?
