I know this has been done many times.. But lately I have been seeing alot of new names on the board... So I figured I could start another introduction of ourselves thread...

Feel free to share anything you want us to know..... What semester you are in? or when you hope to start??? married/single?? kids?? Pets?? Fears?? what area you want to work in??? age??? Anything you feel like sharing...

I will start.. :D

I am 25 (be 26 on the 20th of this month).... I am married, 2yrs on July 15th... No kids.. Just 4 rotten animals... :)

I just completed my first semester this past May.... It was NOT as hard as all the horror stories, but it did take ALOT of studying.. I am in a ADN program.. My hopes when I finish is to work with Children... There is a Childrens Hospital 2 1/2hrs from me and I would LOVE to work there... I am also working at a hospital as a PCA part time.. I plan on working 1 day or 2 a week during the 2nd semester... But we will see how that goes.... If you read the post YIPPEE!! you will see that I just recently got to put in a Foley at work, and we haven't even learned that in school yet... I was really excited.. :roll

I start back on August 19th and if we started back tomorrow, I would be MORE than ready...

hi everyone, my name is tammy, i am 35 years old, married to a wonderful supportive husband ( i thing the spouses of nursing students are special people for putting up with everything involved in nursing school ) i have a 11 year old daughter heather, who has type 1 diabetes. ( i know i am biased: but i think she is a very special kid to put up with everything involved in her life)

i was always interesed in nursing, but when i graduated high school i went to work in banking and finance. i always planned on going back to school, but i got comfortable in the job i was in and spent 15 years there. when heather was diagnosed with diabetes, that was the perfect opportunity for me to full fill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse, while educating myself of how to better handle my daughters medical condition. i am in my 3rd semester of an adn program, 3 down, and 2 to go,

when i started, i had every intention on becoming a diabetes educator, but now i am torn. this semester we are working our labor and delivery rotation, and i love it. so i guess i will work labor and delivery when i graduate while i take classes to get my bsn which is required for diabetes educator. that gives me at least a couple of years to decide what i want to be when i finish.

tammy , welcome![color]

i've been away for a number of months renovating a house i purchased, trying to get through school and starting a new pca job that is an hour's drive. in reading this post there are a lot of new people, but thankfully, i did recognize some of the names as well.

a little about myself...my name is shonda, i'm 39 (ugggghhh) years old, divorced mother of two (grant - 11 and now in middle school and madison - 6 in the first grade). besides school and work, i am busy with the activities of my children which include 4-h, clover kids, dance/drill team/tumbling, and who knows what else will come up this year and an active member of the sna at my cc.

my pets include 8 horses, 1 rabbit, and thinking of getting my daughter a puppy for her birthday in november.

without going into a lot of detail, i was supposed to be moving up to my third semester of four this fall with graduation in may 2003; however, i am having to start over, so i will be starting first semester tomorrow (sept. 3) and graduating in may 2004...just shy of my 41st birthday.

well, i guess that's enough for now. i'm glad to be back here and i'm going to catch up on posting as quickly as i can. take care and god bless each and everyone of you.

Hi I'm Dianne (well duh......:chuckle )

I'm 39 and holding, I'm an LPN who, 12 years ago, failed :imbar Med Surg 2 in the RN program. From there I went on to get my LPN. Now, hopefully a wiser person, I am once again trying to grab the elusive RN.

This semester I am taking (retaking) Microbiology, since it's been over 10 years. I have Pharmocology and a computer class left before I bridge in May.

Our bridge program consist of a one-day a week program which scares me to death! My husband, who is also an LPN, is also in school with me and hopes to bridge at the same time.

Our oldest child just got married Aug, 31st, and our youngest is 14 (just started highschool).

We also work at the same hospital, 12 hr shifts 7P-7A, but different areas, he's med surg, I'm OB/ER.

I have enjoyed getting to know people at this site, and would welcome emails, I love to talk.......LOL....

:D Hi my name is Melanie. I am a 26 year old 1st semester nursing student with one daughter and husband. I am currently in the ADN at the local community college where I live. I hope to get my BSN after having more children but I think I will like having the ADN title. Not as much of responsibility (or so I am told). I have enjoyed this site tremendously and cant wait to talk to more of you soon! Take care and good luck to all pursuing a nursing degree!!!!

Hi everyone!

My name is Debby, I'm in my second year of an ADN program. 3 semesters down, 2 to go!

I have 3 kids, 16, 13, and 2 years old. I am not working right now but I have worked as a CNA on a med/surg unit, and I think that experience has helped me a lot in nursing school.

This semester we are doing pediatrics, L&D, and OB, and I am really looking forward to my clinicals. I still haven't decided on what area I would like to be in, but hope to have some idea before graduation!

Good luck to everyone!

Hi all, My name is Diana. I am 29yo, married for 8 years and have 3 children (2 boys 8 & 3 and 1 grl 5). This is my 2nd year in school and still a little unsure that I can handle it all. Started the nursing classes in August and will graduate in July 03. I am in the LPN program but eventually would like to further my education and become a Nurse Practitioner.

sharon, and welcome! the number of views next to the thread tells how many people have viewed any thread. some view is more than others and depending on the thread determines how many replies it gets. just a tip.:)

all the best to you and looking forward to seeing you soon!
