How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

Hi! This is Montien...37 yo, former Army LPN (Hoo-Ah), currently employed as a "Nurse Coordinator" for a great company in Phila., and in my Junior year a LaSalle University's "LPN to BSN" program; graduation in May 2004!! I am also a full-time mother to a 12 yo son and a part-time mother to a 24 yo daughter (who has been living on her own for the past five yrs...what was I thinking when I wanted another baby?)

Nursing has afforded me the opportunity to learn about people from many nations and cultures and has allowed me to develop some lifelong skills that I can transfer into any other area of life. It's all I know and is not only what I do, but a special part of WHO I am! ;-)

Hello everybody! :) I'm Sharon and I'm currently taking pre-reqs. needed to apply to a nursing program. I have a BA (sociology) but want to work in the medical field (or somehow combine my degree with nursing...i dont know.) I'm taking developmental psyc and human nutrition this semester and I am the mother of an active 3 year. I hope to enter the 2 year nursing program @ Howard University in 2004. wish me luck

Hi, my name is chris, I'm 37, married 13 yrs, mommy to Timmy who just turned 2 in dec. I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grow up:idea: I want to be a nurse! I have been going to school p/t for the last few years, so all I've got left are clinicals and I get to start in Mid January-YaY! I also work full time in production work, so this is going to be a challenge, but a welcome one. Goodluck to all.:-)

Since there are no men represented here yet, let me introduce myself to you all. I am a second semester nursing student in a five semester program. I am 48 years old and finally getting to attain my dream of becoming a nurse. I have successfully raized two children (ages 24 and 26) and now it is my turn. Good luck to all and with the grace of God we can do this!!!
