I'm already stressed out

  1. Hi everyone. I need to rant about something for a moment i am hoping that you all will indulge me

I begin my classes on Monday and i still do not have all the books i need for the classes. I am missing about 5 books. I have been told to not worry about it and that my instructors won't hold it against me if i don't have my books on the first day. Well, that's great but i am really not concerned if they are going to hold it against me. I am more concerned that i have to go into class on Monday and listen to a lecture on information that i have no idea about because i don't have the ability to read over the material. I know there is a study guide in this bundle pack that i don't have that i could have finished before the first day of class...one less thing to worry about you know?

I have tried to make other arrangement to get these book but the bookstore gave me the ISBN numbers for a bundle pack. I have searched and searched but i i can't find all the books in the bundle packs, and that's a problem because the college bookstore is not ordering the books individually.

So far my semester is really starting off great. :angryfire

Your first week of classes probably won't involve much work. You'll probably go over the syllabus and get introductory notes. So just make sure you get the rest of the books by the end of the first week.

I'm dealing with pretty much the same thing. My classes start Monday and I am missing two books that were supposed to be part of a bundle pack. I ordered the pack from amazon, but when it came these two books were missing. They can't just send those two books seperately though, so they are now sending me a whole new pack, and when it gets here I'm supposed to send back the books I got with the original pack. I just hope that the new package is complete when it gets here, because I also don't want to be showing up to class without the right books.

Don't stress just yet. Plus I'm sure you won't be the only person missing some books.

    Beathe in, breathe out....

There is nothing you can do about it and getting stressed is only going to hurt you. Don't let this doom your whole semester, it's all going to be fine.

I am sure you are not the only person who doesn't have all the books. The teachers will understand and I don't think you are going to be behind by not reading.

Thanks all. I guess what has me so stressed is that i know the books are out there and available but for some reason the school or the bookstore (i haven't figured out which one yet) just doesn't want to tell me the ISBN numbers for the books or even give me all the titles for the books. i know i wont be the only one without my books but i am just one of those people that likes to be way ahead on my reading.

we were never required to bring the books to class.
We hit the ground running, howver, there was no " week of going over the syllabus". we were given the syllabus and packet info 2 weeks before the start of classes. Day one, minute one, lecture and note taking began. Dont sweat not having the books the first day, you can get caught up easily on the reading. This way, by having the lecture first, you will know what to focus your reading on

Yeah, that's how i am looking at it. We were emailed our syllabus about 2 weeks ago also and we already know that we are gonna have lecture on the first day of class. I know i have no control so i may as well just grin and bear it.

I honestly would not stress over this. I can see where you are coming from as this same thing happened when I started. However, the past two semesters all we have really done the first day or two is go over the syllabus. There are tons of things to talk about and I am sure people will have a lot of questions. I am sure you are not the only one in your class with this situation. Good luck!

Well y'all I have been through 2 days of nursing school and still no books. We jumped right in on day one and started lecture too. Our instructor was up there telling us to turn to page so and so and only 4 students had textbooks. (They had friends in the program from the year before) The rumor was that we were getting our book tomorrow now we hear that they WILL NOT be in tomorrow and that there is no way of knowing when the books will come in either.
