:uhoh3: How long did it take for you to finish all pre-reqs ?

When I took the placement test, I was pretty good with math (I can take Pre-Calculus class) but since English is not my mother tongue, I have to spend a lot of classes with english and biology. I am thinking about one year include summer classes (If I am lucky and put all my energy in it)

what about you guys???

I went back to school for my 2nd degree (first was in International Business), and had to take one year of pre-req's with full, hard-core loads throughout. Now in the nursing program and it makes pre-req's seem like a breeze! Ha! I love it though. Learning so much and developing the dusty areas of my brain.

Good luck!

Well, at my school (BSN program) the student needs to finish every class required by the university as well as nursing pre-req's before entering the program. Thus the program is only nursing classes -- so here most students take 2 1/2 years to 3 years to finish pre-req's and then a little over a year of nursing classes.

I took the four prereqs that I needed for a second bachelor's at LSU, got accepted, started nursing school, and Katrina came to town. I sat out for a year, then moved to FL and had to spend another full year taking prereqs for the program here at USF...thankfully, I got accepted again and start a 15 month accelerated program in May.

Well its actually 1 yr and 3 months (15 months) -- we do 15 months straight through (no breaks except for a week or two between terms) and our school of nursing is on trimesters. So it is 4 trimesters (trimesters are 15 weeks rather than 16 week semesters). So it is basically the same amount of information you are receiving, but ours is very condensed (time wise) and a very intensive 15 months.

Prereqs?

2 1/2 years or 5 semesters. It's supposed to be 4 semesters, but I didn't originally major in nursing, thus, the setback.

It took me a year, including a class over summer. However, I originally started out in another degree program and took several years off to get married and have babies. So, I had a lot of the basic general-ed classes out of the way. There are 4 semesters of prereqs for my BSN program.

:lol2: It will be 3 years of my actively trying to finish my prereqs before I can apply to the ADN program however I technically started taking my prereqs 11 years ago.....

I can't believe it will have taken me approx 15 years to finish a 2 year degree by the time I'm done!!!!:lol2:
