i am so sorry that you can't make it! where are you doing your clinicals at? i just finished up at mmhi. we start peds at lebonheur in march.

well, let me see if i can condense this for you. i am now a rn intern, & i tutor to keep my scholarship. also, my migraines have gotten progressively worse. i have at least 2 per week, and chronic headaches in between. i am on topamax (100mg bid) and effexor xr (75mg bid). i have been to the emergency room 3 or 4 times since we last *talked* due to these darn things. however, i am not going to let them stop me from achieving my dream of becoming a nurse!

how are you doing? it seems we will both be graduating in december. that will be great!

what class(es) are you taking now? what class(es) do you have left?

I am in Med/Surg at Methodist University hospital, but after this week I'll be in psych. I'll be at Le Bonheur in May. :) :)

hey, one of my best friends and study partner is a rn intern in icu at methodist. her name is amika. if you ever run into her, you ought to say, "hi!"

where are you going to do psych at? mmhi wasn't all that bad, after you got used to locking and unlocking all of the doors.

i am just going to miss you, because we leave lebonheur the last of april. our finals are the first week in may.

what class(es) do you have left? after peds, we have adult health ii and nursing care management. i have no clue where the clinical for adult health ii will be, but i will be doing mgmt where i work now, which is pretty cool. it is only about 1/4 of a mile from my house.

do y'all have classes today? all of our classes were cancelled due to the snow. i don't remember seeing methodist up there.

No classes today! Yippee!

We will do psych half at Lakeside and half at Methodist.

I have OB/peds next semester, then Critical Care/Management. I am hoping to be able to do my management at North because it's close and convenient. I had my first semester of med/surg clinicals there, and it was great.

hi.. i understand the migraine stuff... thank god, i only get one every couple of weeks... my doctor put me on inderal, cause my headaches kept my bp like 160/105 and sometimes higher... it has helped i am just a bad pill taker..

school has been going good until recently.. one of our classmates died last week, so we went to her funeral yesterday, very sudden death, still don't know why.. she was 31 and left behind a 3 and 2yr old... so that has made it difficult to concentrate on school...

i have already done clinicals on cardiac, med-surg, and orthopaedics.. we have oncology, dialysis, and some other med-surg floors left this semester.. then next semester we have peds, icu and psych, then it is over :)

i am still working as a pca on an orthopaedic floor.. i really enjoy it... i don't work very often.. because this is the hardest semester.. we have so many lil projects and stuff to do... i am working on one as we speak :)

hope the headaches get better.. even though they probably won't until december :)

I can't make it this time, even though it would count for 8 clinical hours for us. I just can't work out babysitter details. yuck.

I was at MMHI last spring and I thought I was going to die! We were there for three months and I hated pretty much every minute of it. I constantly felt like a piece of fresh meat. Very scary experience for all of us. :) But I am glad to hear that your time there went well. I was at LeBonheur over the summer and loved it. Everyone was so nice and I just loved the kids! Have fun!

I didn't want to make a new post for this, and I know it doesn't really belong in this thread, but...

Anyone know if University of Memphis is open today?? Yesterday they didn't decide until 7:00, which was fine for then, but I need to know ASAP today! If they are open, I have clinical today and need to leave home by 6:45 to get there on time. Thanks for info if you have it!
