Help with IVP rates

  1. Given the information that Lorazepam (ATIVAN) inj is 0.5 mg. How do I find the IVP rate?

Lorazepam is max 2mg/ min. Ordered amount: 0.25 ml=0.5 mg of 2mg/mL.

By IVP rate do you mean IV push rate?
If so and you want to push 0.5mg and the Lorazepam is supposed to be pushed no faster than 2mg/min, you can push 0.5mg over 15 seconds. Because 2mg/min would be 1mg/30 seconds, making it 0.5mg over 15 seconds.

The answer is already present in your statement. You just have to do a little math. Half a milligram of Ativan is one quarter of a 2 milligram dose. You were given a rate of 2 milligrams per minute. How many seconds is one quarter of a minute? Remember that there are only 60 seconds in a minute, not 100 so 25 seconds isn't the answer.
