HELP!!! non resident nclex testing

  1. Hi all!

I live in Texas and am looking to take the NCLEX. I have recently passed my 4 year time limit since graduating nursing school, so my ATT in the state of Texas will not be reinstated unless I complete another nursing program. SOOO, I'm wondering if any of you know off hand what states don't have a time limit on passing the NCLEX and wouldn't require me to establish residency? So far I only have NY.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Taking four years to pass NCLEX is not typical, so you're probably going to have to do the work yourself. I'd start by looking at BON websites of neighboring states and moving outward from there. Most BONs have a lot (or all) of their application information online.
Are you planning on actually relocating? If not, it's also very important that you find out what Texas requires to apply for licensure by exam or by endorsement. A passing NCLEX result is a big part of the battle won't necessarily enable you to win the war. There may be additional work experience or educational requirements since you are no longer a new graduate.
