Graduation and job offer

  1. There is hope! I have pinning this afternoon and graduation (hooray BSN!) at 10 am tomorrow morning. I've been on six interviews, for various positions including peds (my first love), med/surg, and psych (where I have tech experience). My last interview was last Monday. I called on Friday to see if a decision had been made and was told I wouldn't hear until the middle of this week. The nurse recruiter called while I was in the shower this morning and I waited 30 minutes for her to call me back (yay phone tag!). She called, we made small talk, and after what seemed like an agonizing few minutes, I was extended a job offer.

I'll be working 7P-7A on a general psychiatric unit in a medium sized community teaching hospital in my area. I start July 13th, two days before my 22nd birthday. Sometimes things happen in strange ways and I feel like I'll be happier in this job than I would have been in other positions I interviewed. It's hard to get rejection letters when you think interviews go well, but my interviews helped me learn more about myself and how to answer interview questions. I couldn't be more excited!
