We got told after the semester started by our clinical instructor that we would have to have it renewed before clinical started in my first semester...even though it wasn't expired yet, and wouldn't expire until in between 2nd and 3rd semester.
I understood that it would have to be renewed before 3rd semester, but apparently, they want them renewed yearly. (Whether you're in the program yet, or not.)

Spill,
Does he just like to stay up, or does he wake up for a reason (wet diaper, hungry, snuggle, etc)? A girl I worked with just had a night owl for a little boy and they tried everything....all to no avail. But, if he's waking up for something, there is some conditioning things that can help.

On the CPR thing....I took mine out at Lake Point and it was FREE...yes, FREE!!! They do it for all nursing students. It's a bit of a drive (depending on where you're coming from), but for me the gas was way less expensive than the fees some places charge to take it. It's Lake Point Hospital 972-412-2273. They are out in Rowlett, but we finished early, they gave you the book for free, gave you a mouth guard to keep with you, and the instructor was at least entertaining.
Good luck all!

Thanks Yang---I might check that out... I took my cpr with a lovely lady with Heartbeat CPR her website is http://www.heartbeatcpr.net
She keeps it quick & to the point- you have the option of buying the book and CD or not for $50 or w/out for $40 which isn't horrible at all.
I just hate that we are all such busy people and I like to have a heads up on anything that they require of us. I hate when they tell us something we need to do or by and it has to be within a few days.
I like many of you, live on a budget and have a hectic schedule outside of school.
OH well, only 3 more semesters right???? Why does that seem like such a long time?
ps. Yang: My boy is doing better, I just have to keep him awake more in the day, so he sleeps better at night. I guess it's just something that all mothers go through with newborns---running on 2-4 hours of sleep -thank goodness for caffeine.
did everyone get this message on ecampus? i didn't, but i heard about it through the grapevine. i thought i would pass it on, just in case i wasn't the only one out of the loop.

I bet it's time for me to recert since I took my CPR class last summer. Dad gum it!
Since I just moved, I hope I can find my shot records. It sure would be a bummer to have to start over.

That's so good to know! Not too far from me. I will definitely go there for my recert in January.
Thanks Yang

Marshall is gone. It looks like we'll have someone named Meza at the VA... At least that's the name on the schedule.
Question for 2nd and third semester folks. I forked over the $578.00 for the book box today. What do you all suggest reading before classes begin? I suck at math and would appreciate your comments...
Well, I have returned from the Caribbean and boy did I not want to come home! But, I can at least say that I have had a good summer. I'm relaxed and ready to jump into Fall now!
Got so excited I posted double...haha
I wonder what program she went to. I guess I'm just suprised...lol
