We had to take a dosage calc proficiency yesterday. We could miss 3. Had to have an 85% or above. It was over weights and IV Drips. This is a state mandated test. We have 2 chances to pass it, if we don't, we are out of the program. I think I may have missed 4.

Just wanting you all to know and wanting to ask for your thoughts and prayers;) .

I am so nervous that my stomach is tied in knots....literally.:o

I guess because of the fact that if I have to take it again, can you imagine the pressure on a person? Knwing that this one test can be the determination between whether you can continue in your chosen career or not?:eek:

Boy~ is all this pressure students go thru a pre-requisite for working as nurses in the future?;)

Unfortunately i think it is a pre-req for nursing. And the must pass tests dont stop so hang tough. My whole last year and my future as a RN hinges on whether we pass the HESI test or not. No pass, no graduate. We take it on the 15th of may, and graduation is on the 17th,, talk about stress and COST!

We also need to take a math test every semester. We just had ours last week. I am glad it is over.

We have to get 85% or better as well. You will need to retake it if you don't and also the first grade is counted not the second.

This test consisted of IV rates and med adm problems that we covered last semester. It was only 20 points.

Good Luck. I do know how you feel because l had to retake it last semester. I missed it by 1 pt because I labeled a problem wrong right numbers though. I passed this test the first time. Yeah!!!! No more worrying about it until the 1st week next semester when the next one is given.

We had to take a dosage calc test back in September, we had to make an 85% and got 3 tries. In May we have to take the same dosage calc test. This time we have to make 90% and only get 2 tries. I wish you the best of luck Julie and hope you pass. If it makes you feel any better, this is my second time in RN school, because I got an 88% the first time I took the test. Last year we had to make 90%, not 85%.
