Can You Work at Hospital Before NCLEX

  1. I will be done with lpn school in September but was told we can't graduate until December. I know it takes approximately 4-6 weeks to take the Nclex and get results but is it possible to work in a hospital environment before taking the test? I was anticipating graduating in September and working by at least the end of October, but it doesn't seem like that will happen from what I'm told. I need to start working asap when I'm done with school. Just wondered what other students are doing.

I know that RN students can work as graduate nurses before taking the NCLEX, but I am unsure about LPN's. You may want to take to your nursing school advisor and see what they recommend. GL!

Working as a graduate practical nurse will depend on your specific state. Best to check with your state nursing board. Lots of nursing students do work in patient care tech positions though.
