I'd love to know who here is starting this journey along with me.

I'm starting an 18 month (after pre-reqs) LPN program on Jan 9.

I will then begin the RN bridge program & God willing, I'll be finished with that in two semesters.

I'm very excited and scared to death! I want to go out shopping for my books and supplies, uniforms, shoes, ect.....but can't until we get our lists on the first day of classes.

Who else?

I'll be starting an accelerated ADN program in Jan. that ends in Dec. 2006!

We have two days of clinical and two days of lecture. Our skills lab is on wednesdays for 4 hours and mandatory skills practice at the lab once a week.

Recently, we just got word from our program director that we'll be receiving tablet pc's that have our textbooks on them --so we don't need to buy books anymore!:biggringi. I'm so excited, and I needed a new computer too!

I am starting RN program Jan 9th too. I just picked up my books (12 of them, need one more) so I am ready to roll!

Congratulations :balloons: It is so exciting! Good luck

I am starting a BSN program on January 10th. I am taking my physiology final tomorrow, it was a individual study class and then I will be done. I have to pass the final to get the credit for the class, I got a low grade on the midterm. It is a really hard test because it is 20 short essay questions on 10 chapters of physiology (not anatomy) from blood composition to respiratory system, digestive system, kidneys, and reproductive system. I just need to pass and I want at least a C. I am already in nursing school so as long as I get a C grade I can still go to nursing school, if not I'm screwed. I've already bought all my books except for two through amazon and ebay and I cant buy the other things until orientation. I am also getting married in less then two weeks so that is on my mind too! After the wedding on January 1st all I have to think about is nursing school. I really slacked off this semester with school since I just needed two classes to pass to get into nursing school and the other classes I was in were fluff classes that I didnt care how I did, I was glad to get sort of a break from school stress this semester, but it will be a big transition I bet going into nursing school which I've been told and it looks like it will be the most interesting and possibly stressful semester I've ever been in! I'm excited more then nervous though. But ask me agin in two weeks and I might have changed my mind.

I start my ADN program on Jan. 9th. I've got all of my pre and co-requisite classes out of the way, so it'll "only" be 9 credits. 2 days clinicals from 7:00am - 3:00pm, 2 hours of skills lab and 3 hours of lecture. We don't actually go to our clinical site for 6 weeks. I got my first choice for clinical site, so that's good.

I can't seem to bring myself down to the bookstore to buy that $1200 worth of textbooks. I'm procrastinating until I absolutely have to.:p

Hi!

I'm starting on the 17th. I'm thrilled and scared poopless!!:uhoh21:

We had our orientation on 12/15 and I already have my uniform (oh my God! is it ugly!! :barf01:It looks like the school hasn't updated its uniforms since 1979!! Puffy sleeves, yikes!

People at work call me a "school geek" because I can't wait to get my books and crack those babies OPEN!:yelclap:

At orientation, a drill sargent type:madface: instructor almost bit my head off! I was listening to EVERYTHING but I wanted to be sure about something so I raised my hand and asked a question. She looked at me and screamed, "WILL YOU PEOPLE LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS:angryfire !!!" LOL, OH BOY--good way to start off, strike fear into your students so they'll be afraid to ask you any questions!!! Whew, I hope I don't run into her too often, LOL! Especially since I ask ALOT of questions!!:rotfl: LOL--utoh, I have a feeling I'm gonna be on somebody's s---list! (if I'm not already)

I guess I'm going to have to remember what my mother always told me, "You can't control how other people react to you, but you CAN control how you react to them."

Anyway, Congratulations and Good LUck to you all!

$1200!?!?!?! WOW! Are they bound in gold? I ordered 7 books and it came to about $350.00. How many books do you need to get?

Oh, my, please don't pay that! Go to half.com, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com or even walmart.com and save money. Walmart's books are ALL cheaper than the bookstore and you can get them new. If you do the other websites, get your books used and simply read everyone's ratings before you order. My books were supposed to cost $1200 also--I spent $700 baby.

I'll be starting my ADN program January 9th. The program is notoriously difficult, but I'm excited. I did great with all my pre-reqs so hopefully I won't struggle too much. Our classes are M,T,W,F (clinical on Tuesday and Wednesday) and we have Thursdays off.

Good luck to us all!!

Adri :nurse:

I'd like to give a shout out to all the future nurses out there, Good Luck and remember that even though it is hard it is worth it in the end. I can't wait to finish. Oh and make coffee your best friend, LOL.

I am just as excited as all of you! I start on January 9th, WooHoo! I can't wait. I have already got my uniform and my shoes. I haven't bought my books yet, but they will run about 600 from the bookstore, and I have already found them online for a bunch cheaper, so I am ordering them online. Yay, congratulations to the rest of you who are starting in January as well! It's about time!

That is exactly how much mine cost 1200.00. It was 13 of them. This is EXCLUDING uniforms, fees, RN deposit (non-refundable 500.00 :( ), student kit, and tote.
