As far as something to remember the path of blood though the heart, I use the St. Joseph's aspirin commercial to help me remember.... A few months ago we had our cardiac exam and I still have it running through my head.... Here are they lyrics....
Pump, pump, pumps your blood
The right atrium's where the process begins,
Where the CO2 blood enters the heart.
Through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle
The pulmonary artery and lungs.
Once inside the lungs it dumps it carbon dioxide
And picks up its oxygen supply
The it's back to the heart through the pulmonary vein
Through the atrium and left ventricle.
Pump, pump, pumps your blood.
The aortic vavles where the blood leaves the heart
Then it's channeled to the rest of the bod
The arteries, arterioles, and capillaries too
Bring the oxygenated blood to the cells
the tissues and the cells trade of waste and CO2
Which is carried through the venules and the veins
Through the larger vena cava to the atrium and lungs
And we're back to where we started in the heart."
I found these lyrics on a webpage about Happy Days.... apparently a long time ago on Happy Days one of the characters sang this song to remember the blood flow in the heart for a test, or something like that.... The website it's off is this.... http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servle...threadid-67613/
Hope this helps you out!
