Even if the textbook is awful, if I were you, I would purchase it anyway. That textbook and the information contained in it is what your professor will test on.

It wouldn't be in your best interest to move onto another textbook unless you are absolutely sure the information is the same.

I've been through my fair share of bad textbooks, its really a rite of passage in nursing school.

Your going to need the book if you want rationalize with your professors with tests. If you try to use a source other than those on the required textbook list, they're going to toss your input. I have the Pearson's book and my class hates it. Out teachers also have come to dislike the book and the publisher. They're getting rid of Pearson all together, they've caused nothing but problems for our program.

If they read it. That is the problem we ran in to. The instructors hadn't even read it until we all started to complain about the poor editing and when found conflicting information when challenging test questions. Another problem was that they were getting test questions from the test bank from the old book and many of them did not match up with the new one. TOTAL nightmare.
