It seems we must have gotten behind in A&P because we are now having lectures on our lab days as well. Now we are responsible for 2 chapters a week, each being 40 pages long with about 10 vocabulary words a page! Ugh! Anyone else getting doubled up during the home stretch??

Sounds about how my A&P was, although we didn't have "vocab" words per se. Do you mean you have to actually define and turn in words like in 4th grade or they are just terms you have to know for the test?

We had weekly quizzes, 3 big hard exams, a bunch of lab stuff each week, and two big case study papers in my A&P class.

Anyway, I feel your pain, it's a drag to get more just when everyone is getting tired and losing motivation. Stick it out just a little longer, and make sure you learn that A&P!!! You're going to need it like crazy. :)

Oh geez! So sorry this is happening to you! How much longer until it's over?

The vocab words relate to the chapter. We are working on the brain, spinal cord and nerves now, so each page has as example dura mater, arachnoid mater, pia mater, subdural space, epidural space, subarachnoid space, meninges, etc... per page, each chapter 30-40 pages so yeah, lots of definitions. I am done mid- May and we have a group presentation at the end. The lab portion I am doing fine with, labeling the bones and everything, but there is just so much info for these chapters. We have 2 quizzes this week since we got 2 lectures. We had a lecture yesterday and get quizzed on it tomorrow along with last weeks lecture.

I'm sure glad I got a good mid term grade! LOL

hang in there sad to say but this just prepares you for the juggling you will face as a floor nurse...lest what you're doing now can't possibly kill someone good luck it'll be over before u know it!!

When I took A&P 1 our class fell behind because of snow days. Since most of us were continuing into the second semester with A&P 2, the instructor doubled up on two units and taught the CNS, cranial nerves and the digestive system in 5 weeks of lecture then examined us on all the material!

It was not fun:uhoh3:
