love_rusty: I'm still here! I'm taking my prereq's @ FCCJ; hope to be finished with them by December and then apply for the nursing program that will start next May. I've already taken my PSB-NAT, and scored pretty well, but may take it again this fall, just to see if I score a little higher...And I still need to take my CPR class. But I'm pretty much on track right now. I still work full time for a major brokerage firm, and have the two youngest of six kids at home (son - 17 and daughter -16; he'll be a senior next year, and she'll be a junior). My husband is retired Navy and works from home now, but hopefully will go back to teaching public school next year when I'm in college full time. I've always wanted to be a nurse, but I'm finally at the point in my life where I can really DO it...been too busy raising kids and working to support them the last few years. Good luck to you; hope you get your acceptance letter(s) soon! PM me if you want to chat more in-depth.

I am a UNF student and I just submitted my applications for the RN and LPN programs. Now the waiting begins. I'm taking the summer off to work to pay for whichever program because financial aid said that an ASN degree is not satisfactory progress. So I am now a PCA and I am loving it. Well the patient care part and I'm trying to navigate the politics. The US (non-licensed) against them (the licensed). But I'm caught in the middle because I'm not licensed but yet i'm not a career PCA. So I'm just floating on my own boat and loving it. I put in my first urinary catheter on a man yesterday and it was FUN!!!!!!!!!!! They of course let me do it right after they gave the man morphine but I dont care I did it on the first try without demonstration just a talk through. I know that sounds crazy but I love my job and i find stuff like that fun. I dont know why but everytime I learn a new skill I just get excited and even more gung ho to start the program.

Hello all NE Florida RN students,

I am just starting also at FCCJ this week so I am always looking for insight on the program there and what the news is around town. Is there anyone that is in the programs and working here in town at any of the hospitals? How is that working for you? Hope to hear more from all the florida students!

I'm currently taking my prereq's @ St Johns River Community College; I hope to be finished with them by June 2008 @ FCCJ and then apply for the nursing program that will start August 2008.

I haven't taken my PSB-NAT yet. I'm scared. I will sign up to take it next month.

I currently have CPR / First Aid certification, but it will expire before the application deadline. I know that is something that I'll have to keep current anyway.

I don't work. So, I'm trying to focus solely on school. I am a SAHM of four (girl 8; boys 4, 2 & 10mo) , so sometimes I get a "little" sidetracked . My husband works nights @ Coca Cola. He helps me with the kids as much as he can. This is something I've been wanting to accomplish for a long time.

I'm a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), but I've not worked in the field since the training. I am more interested in nursing and have been for over 10 years.

Hello... I'm in first term nursing program at FCCJ. Feel free to ask me any questions. You can PM me if you want. I'm sorry I may not respond back tonight. We had our first day of clinicals today and I am pretty exhausted.... I'm 25, I have a little girl who just turned 2. I didn't have any medical experience.

elby, can i ask what your scores were to get in and did you get in on your first try?

i am so nervous that i will never get in.

Hello.... I had 217 I think. I got in my first try.

How are your NAT scores? That's what really boosted my score up.

Just keep trying. You will get in if this is really what you want to do.... Stay positive!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you do use the raw scores correct, rather than the percentile scores?

some one once told me you use the percentile scores, but i heard other wise-

Specializes in Cardiac.

Right, use the raw scores.

Hey guys, I have finished all my pre reqs and have a very high GPA, but I am SOOOO scared to take the PSB-NAT! Is it really hard, what kind of questions are there?

I got 99.2 points for the NAT. Is that bad or good? Should I retake it? I have like 219.2 points with my grades. Do I have a good chance? What did you all get on the NAT?
