any crazy thanksgiving stories?

I'd love to hear anything funny, crazy, over the top....etc. I am hosting tomorrow for the first time and between brining and some family drama I'm feeling fit to be tied...instead of this turkey :)

A LOOOOONG time ago (think 1960s) there was a gas main break on Thanksgiving in the town we lived in. As a result, the oven my grandmother was trying to cook our MASSIVE turkey in would not get any hotter than 275 degrees.

The adults were drinking to stave off the hunger pangs, the kids were whining and bouncing off the walls. We eventually threw caution to the wind and dined on medium rare turkey about 8pm. What an unmitigated disaster.
