The site used to contain a lot of great information for Excelsior students preparing for the CPNE. People posted journals of their experiences at the various test sites.

Recently (some time in the last few weeks) the site seems to have gone offline. Maybe someone in the Distance Education Forum will know what happened and whether the content can be found anywhere else.

Thanks for explaining that. I passed CPNE 4 years ago. Thank God, I don't need that site! I'm looking for help persuing my BSN through EC. There was a really good site 4 years ago put up by a EC student and the school saw it and threatened to expel the student unless he closed it down. Perhaps that's what happened to sarcasm. Thanks again for the info.

I hope that's not what happened.

Sarcasm contained nothing more than great stories of people's long hard journey through EC's CPNE. It also contained helpful tips and review of skills tested, areas of care, etc.

Someone else mentioned the "Chipkalee" site that was indeed closed down several years ago back in my generation of CPNE'ers. I looked at it many times and still cannot figure out what was on the sight that EC felt was considered to be "cheating" on the CPNE.

How could you possibly cheat on an exam like that?

IMHO, sites like these were created because many of us felt that we just didn't have enough support and direction with the CPNE. Especially back before the workshops and skills labs were created.

Personally, I needed some insight from actual people who went through it.

The study guide and video was just too sterile and left me with too many "what if's."

Yes that was it... Chipkalee's site. It was wonderful and I never saw anything dishonest about it either. She had many links to nursing education sites that really helped.

I always wondered what happened to Chipkalee's site. I found it and thought it was great, but I wasn't ready for the CPNE at that time. I wish I had made a copy of some of the info she had put on there, as I remember, she was the first person that I found to mention the famous "grid". I never knew she was forced to close the site by the school. Probably had something to do with decisions by the school concerning money-making assistance on their part. I just don't have the funds to put into all their review activities. Self help from other students is the best bet for most of us. Good luck to any others getting ready for the CPNE. Sorry for responding to an old thread, but it is applicable. I'm currently looking for any info to organize myself to get ready.
