I don't know of anyone who really benefitted from the colouring books. Which text are you using? Doe it have a study guide and CD ROM? Sometimes it helps to test your knowledge immediatly after reading a chapter. A&P is a lot of memorizing, do it it small amounts so you don't become overwhelmed. Check and see if your school library have any cadaver videos.

I am using a textbook called "Anatomy and Physiology" by Elaine Marieb. And it does have a CD Rom with it. I had just heard alot of people using the coloring books, didn't know if it was a big help or not. It isn't required with my instructor. Thanks...

Hi,
I didn't use the coloring books, I had purchased them but never used them.. my instructor gave us too much outside work to do between lab and lecture I really didn't have time. They do benefit some people. I got by without them.. We used the marieb for a&p II.
Good Luck:)

I used the Anatomy Coloring Book by Wynn Kapit/Lawrence Elson. I only used it in the areas where I thought I needed extra reinforcement. I tutored A&P I & II for about a year...some of my students benefited from it while others did not. It depends on if you are a visual learner or not....
Good luck!

I just hated the coloring book! honestly, I colored the cell....with the nucleus and the ribosomes, and the endoplasmic reticulum (sp) and that was it! If you color the stuff wrong, then it is all wrong and it doesn't look right anyway.....JMO

for ap1 get online and search for histology....that is a key to passing the class, as lots of histology is covered..my class we had microscopic examination and from computers/powerpoint.
i remember lumen from university of kansas was a good site, and an awesome site was southern australia university or something like that...i cannot remember exact name of schoool website, but they had downloadable lecture notes as well as slides which really helped, too.
your best search engine is google.
my best advice is really really get into liking that stuff.....it pays to have that kinda attitude the farther you go.
i also bought a coloring book for a&p and microbiology, they were both well worth it, i payed less than 15 dollars for each of them.
EMTPTORN - thanks for those sites. I will check into them. I am so excited about learning all of this stuff, so hopefully that will show in my grades!!! Thanks!

Hey Ashemson, I used the Marieb A&P book too, but not the coloring book. I think the regular text book does a great job at helping you learn everything all on it's own.

Ashemson, Glad you are using the Marieb text, it is far better than the one we had in school.
The web is a great resource also, a website that gives a brief description and microscopic images of common bacteria is http://www.cbdn.ca/english/fun_with/fun_with_intro.html
