Laser leveler. And Sharpie pens...although we cant use them on carbon copy stuff (like blood transfusion records)...and CRRT machines...yeah i am wierd...i like doing CRRT...and my palm handheld...keeps me from having to look up things in a book...and Micromedex to check IV compatabiity, especially in those patients that have a million antibiotics and pressors going, plus PRNs, insulin, and proprofol, and only have a double lumen CVL. And, i love proprofol in general!

my pocket pulse-ox. Its small and fits right in my pocket. I can whip it out and have a pulse and O2 sat without having to search the floor for the big BP cart pulseox. I love it. I also love my bandage scissors. My favorite pen is the fat Ambien pens that have the gripper. I bought a huge box of them off ebay and have almost used them all.

Me too! CRRT so appeals to both the nurse-nerd and the math-nerd in me. It's like my own little balance sheet and I am a bit protective of it.

well, they call me the "bag lady" i love my nursing bag it's purple and has cute little stick nurses on the front pocket...I never leave home without it and i don't have to carry a purse with me to work...just dump it all in the bag and go for it! I don't take valuables to work or large amounts of cash, but the bag holds my supplies and papers and all kinds of stuff. Just wish I had more bags.

Having computers in everyroom is priceless-- along with Micromedex (agree with whoever said that earlier). I can look up what is compatible with what in a snap right at the bedside. Also, LOVE having artlines to draw blood out of, and LOVE being able to run ABG's right on the unit in a couple of seconds. Not really gadgets, but I lose EVERYthing, so they are not worth buying!

I have this fun bag I bought at Target from the kid's gardening section. It holds all my essential gadgets - hemostats, scissors, fine point Tul pens (I've already posted in Pen Addicts), my super fine point Sharpies in a rainbow of colors, my iPod & BlackBerry (techno-geek) and gum (I don't chew it, everybody else does - they know I have it).

I must be nuts - I sure have alot of essentials. OOOH, I forgot, tape, must have tape and lots of it. I can do almost anything with tape and hemostats!
