Working PRN outside hospital?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hello All,

I am a RN with about 5 years of bedside experience..and now am about to be in my second year of FNP school.

I want to know if I can work somewhere of course not full time…just a little bit to keep my head in the game… while in school?

I don't really want to work in the hospital setting…maybe just even with paperwork?

OR i love to teach?

Let me know what you all have in mind.

Thanks in advane

how about prn private duty care? flexible and usually pretty low stress. I did PD nights while doing my BSN online, and was able to get tons of schoolwork done in between caring for my little guy.

Many nurses supplement their hospital jobs with part time extended care home health. You can work as many, or as few, shifts as you want, around your hospital schedule.

Many years ago I worked PRN as a medication nurse at a psychiatric hospital. The position was low-stress and my duties were limited to the medication passes.
